The use of total parenteral nutrition is a common invasive practice in healthcare settings. This workshop covers the theory and practical aspects of intermediate hands-on workshop on TPN care and maintenance management. Therefore, this workshop will enhance nurses’ management in the aspect of updated knowledge and skills when providing nursing care to patients with TPN.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Explain the device selection and maintenance for TPN.
- Discuss the patient preparation and caregiver education for TPN.
- Discuss the potential complications and associated intervention for TPN.
- Discuss issues related to TPN administration.
- Demonstrate the appropriate skills for TPN care and maintenance.
