Technology Enhanced Case-Based-Learning (CBL) on Basic Medical Sciences Workshop

Case-Based-Learning (CBL) is a teaching-learning approach which trains students to link theory to practice through application of knowledge to the cases and encourage the use of inquiry-based learning. The clinical cases enhance the relevance of the basic and biomedical sciences and integrate those with clinical sciences.
Current generation of students require interactive, Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) approaches that support a verity of learning styles. Interactive clinical cases in web-based platform facilitate context generation and can compensate absence of real-life cases in pre-clinical settings.
Objectives
At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to
- Develop cases based on basic science outcomes
- Develop interactive and engaging tools for basic sciences
- Be trained to develop interactive cases using web-based platform
- Have opportunities for further collaboration in TEL
