Age Cope is a national association for all operators of aged care facilities and services to coordinate, collaborate and share the resources, expertise and good practices towards quality aged care.

BIGTREE Medicare and Nursing Home are set to be Melaka’s 1st and only integrated nursing care facility registered with MOH to provide comprehensive services including nursing care, hemodialysis, post-hospitalization, and rehabilitation.

This course is designed to equip participants with requisite knowledge and skills to provide support in activities of daily living in elderly care. Participants will be able to provide holistic care comprising physical and mental wellness to those under their care. The course intends to enable participants to provide appropriate individual care by understanding the aging process.

This two-part course allows participants to learn in both controlled (IMU) and on-the-job training in authentic environments (Big Tree) under competent supervisors.

Participants will be awarded with 2 years Basic Life Support certification (according to American Heart Association Guideline), and certification in simulation team-based learning and competency-based assessment.

Objectives

• Acquire essential skills and knowledge to care for the elderly and disabled person.
• Perform basic nursing care safely according to clients’ needs.
• Develop communication and interpersonal skill.
• Perform health assessment to provide focused care.

Intake Criteria

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Good health condition.
• Required to undergo health screening.

Training Delivery Schedule

• Online Sessions – 27 May to 31 May 2024.
• Face-to-Face Sessions – 3 June to 14 June 2024.
• Job Attachment – 17 June to 12 July 2024.
