The module introduces the concepts of statistics for healthcare professionals. Students learn to calculate basic statistical parameters and interpret statistical data.

They will also be trained in the use of the SPSS statistical analysis package.

  1. Apply probability theory in making inferences on the population parameters

  • Dr Aqil Mohammad Daher
    Associate Professor
    Dr Aqil is a lecturer of biostatistics who obtained his Master of public health and PhD from local Malaysian universities. He provides statistical support to both students and researchers. He is activ ely involved in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Acted as co – researcher in many research projects in national and international grants. He has published more than 51 academic papers in peer – reviewed journals and achieved an H – index of 13. He acted as speaker in statistical training workshops, national and international conferences and postgraduates’ forums
  • Dr Lwin Mei Aye
    Senior lecturer
    Dr Lwin Mie Aye is a determined and enthusiastic Public Health lecturer with a keen interest in research and teaching. She has been active in academia since 2006 and had experience in working across different institutions in Myanmar, Singapore, and Malaysi a. She received her MBBS degree in 2004 and her MSc Public Health degree in 2015. She has been leading MSPH programme in IMU since 2019. Besides, she is a module coordinator of Biostatistics module in MSPH programme since 2017, also actively involving in t eaching both undergrad and postgraduate students and supervision of postgraduate research projects
