BEYOND THE CLASSROOM – A Clinical Simulation Workshop for Real-World Applications
Lecture & hands-on at IMU University, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- 25 – 26 June 2024 (Tuesday – Wednesday) 8:30am – 4:30pm
CPD POINTS
- A2 – 16 CPD points (By MMA) 2 full day attending onsite lecture & hands-on.
Simulation has long been integral to clinical teaching in medical education, replicating real-world scenarios for practical experience and skill development. Factors driving its use include limited clinical placements, patient safety concerns, and enhanced readiness for real-world situations. Tailored learning is possible, and dangerous or unique clinical scenarios can be replicated. This workshop covers scenario creation, moulage application, simulated patient training, and scenario conduct.
Objectives
- To recognise the theory of simulation in health-profession education.
- To develop a good simulation scenario for students at various levels.
- To conduct a basic simulation teaching session for students at various levels.
- To develop confidence to conduct a simulation-based session.
