Best Practice in Caries Management

Dental caries is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases worldwide and individuals are susceptible to this disease throughout their lifetime.
The International Caries Classification and Management System (ICCMS™) is a health outcome focused system that aims to maintain oral health and preserve tooth structure.
The School of Dentistry, International Medical University (IMU) is organising a full day workshop that encompasses lectures and hands-on training in risk-assessment, preventive care and current strategies in caries management.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Discuss the rationale behind the risk assessment in preventive care of caries management.
- Formulate the treatment plan based on risk assessment and the likelihood for developing dental caries.
- Demonstrate clinical skills in the use of diagnostic tools such as Diagnodent and Soprolife in early detection of dental caries.
OBJECTIVES
- To enhance knowledge in developing personalised caries preventive strategies and caries control protocol for patients.
- To raise awareness in managing dental caries from Black to the future with ICCMS way.
- To develop skills on the use and implementation of advanced diagnostic tools such as Diagnodent and Soprolife in caries detection.
