The Professional Education Advisory Committee (PEAC) Meeting

The Professional Education Advisory Committee (PEAC) Meeting of the IMU was established to provide advise and guidance to the IMU on all matters relating to the education and training of students enrolled in the professional undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development (CPD) programmes of the IMU.

Thus, PEAC ensures that all the IMU programmes are of high standard.

Memberships

  • The Chairman of the Academic Council

  • The Deans of the schools of IMU
  • Senior members of the IMU governance and administration

PEAC will normally have one main meeting a year and it is scheduled for October this year. In addition to the main meeting, there will be a minimum of two assignments of approximately one week duration. These will involve review of topics identified in advance. A relevant external expert and one PEAC member would comprise the team for these assignments. For 2014, three assignments were scheduled. The assignments were as follows:

The nature and remit of PEAC is to identify problem areas in the quality delivery of academic programmes across the board. The Committee has helped IMU in its accomplishment so far in terms of various quality processes. Over the years, the IMU has been able to make remarkable progress in all areas of academic quality under the expert guidance and advice of the PEAC.
