Workshop On Systematic Review Of Genetic Association Studies (Gas)

Event Date : 02/07/2019
Event Time : 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Materials : Download PDF

Genetic association studies (GAS) estimate the associated genetic variants in diseases of interest, usually complex diseases. There is a surge of individual genetic association studies since early 2000.

However, the results are not consistently reproducible. To further clarify these inconsistent association findings and to identify possible pathogenic polymorphisms in the targeted gene/polymorphisms in relation to the disease of interest, a systematic review including meta-analysis is of immense value.

We have expertise in IMU who are involved in conducting systematicreviews on Genetic Association Studies with publication records. The workshop with hands-on experience on understanding its role will encourage researchers and post-graduate students to gain additional skills.

Objectives

  • To appraise the role of systematic reviews on GAS
  • To apply the principle components and to use the essential steps in conducting a systematic review on GAS
