Bridging the gap among mental health practitioners’ in serving severe and persistent mental illness clients

This cross-cultural counselling training project is a collaborative effort between the Department of Psychology, International Medical University (IMU) and the counselling program at Oregon State University (OSU). Doctoral students from OSU will present a series of counselling training sessions.




Workshop 1: Managing suicide: Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention

  • Bernadet DeJonge
    Current doctoral student at Oregon State University. She holds a BA in Psychology and MA in Rehabilitation Counselling.

Workshop 2: Substances Addiction: Recovery, Relapse Prevention and Coping Skills Trainers: Christy Cosper & Danielle Render Turmaud

    M.S., NCC, is a PhD Candidate in Counseling at Oregon State University.

Workshop 3: Managing worries and anxiety with Mindful Based Cognitive Therapy

    PhD Counsellor Education student at Oregon State University.
  • Stella Kim
    LMHC, is a counsellor from Brooklyn, New York.


Workshop 4: School Counseling: Supporting Trauma, and severe and persistent mental illness clients
