Although there has been an increase in awareness on maintenance of healthy periodontium around teeth and prosthetic abutments, there is still a scope to enhance skills in achieving this. There is lack of training of handling hard and soft tissues around teeth in undergraduate curricula. Hence to upgrade the skills, the workshop is organised to update the clinicians on various techniques of periodontal instrumentation, suturing techniques, and periodontal flap surgical procedures and maintenance protocols.

Objectives

• To appraise various incisions, flap designs in Periodontal surgery.
• To appraise various suturing techniques in Periodontal surgery.
• To develop surgical skills in performing incisions, flap reflection, debridement and flap approximation.
• To appraise importance of maintenance and review protocol in Periodontology.
